STUDENT RESOURCE SCHEME (SRS)
There are a number of costs associated with education and here at Manly we attempt to keep costs at a reasonable level for parents. This is why we are a “Booklist" and “Student Resource Scheme" school. The SRS covers those resources that the school can purchase cheaper in bulk or on a loan basis. The school charges parents a fee for this service. The SRS is not compulsory however, the provision of the resources that it covers is still required and parents not participating in this scheme will need to provide these at their own cost, which is significantly higher as a single purchaser.
At Manly State School we have a Prep SRS Levy which covers a variety of resources needed in the classroom throughout the school year.
We also have an Instrumental Music SRS for students in years 4-6.
The Student Resource Scheme - Instrumental Music Levy supports the delivery of the Instrumental Music program by covering essential items and services. This includes the Instrumental Music District Levy, lesson materials (eg sheet music) and printing/photocopying.
The SRS Levy is payable by all students participating in the Instrumental Music program.
The Student Resource Scheme - Instrumental Music Hire Fee contributes towards the annual servicing of school-owned instruments. This servicing covers general wear and tear due to normal use. Please note: this fee does not cover damage resulting from misuse, neglect, or abuse. It also does not replace the requirement for students to purchase their own maintenance and cleaning items (eg cloths, oils, reeds, etc), which remain the responsibility of parents/carers.
The Student Resource Scheme is invoiced at the beginning of the new school year and is payable by the end of Term 1.
The Student Resource Scheme is an annual fee that is charged at the beginning of each school year. Participation and payment in the scheme can be completed through QParents. Information around each SRS levy is sent home at the end of the previous year. Should you be experiencing financial difficulties please contact our Business Manager or Principal to discuss.
